HEDTA Trisodium Salt (Hydroxyethylethylenediaminetriacetic acid trisodium salt) is a versatile aminopolycarboxylate chelating agent and sequestrant. The 40% aqueous solution is a clear to slightly hazy liquid that effectively complexes with di- and trivalent metal ions, particularly showing strong affinity for iron(III) while maintaining good solubility across a wide pH range. Unlike EDTA, HEDTA contains a hydroxylethyl group that enhances its solubility and modifies its metal-binding characteristics.
