Potassium 3,3,4,4,5,5,6,6,7,7,8,8,8-tridecafluorooctanesulphonate is a fluorinated anionic surfactant and a key member of the per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) family, specifically a perfluoroalkane sulfonate (PFAS). Its structure features a fully fluorinated carbon chain (except for the terminal sulfonate group), which gives the molecule exceptional stability and unique properties like oil and water repellency, thermal resistance, and chemical inertness.
