Oleamide (CAS 301-02-0), also known as oleic acid amides or cis-9-octadecenamide, is the amides of oleic acid. Its molecular formula is C₁₈H₃₅NO and its molecular weight is 281.48 g/mol. At room temperature, it appears as a white to off-white solid, commonly supplied in forms such as beads, flakes, granules, or powder. It is insoluble in water but soluble in organic solvents. Oleamide is primarily used as a functional additive rather than a chemical intermediate, with key roles as a slip agent, lubricant, and mold release agent.
